NaF+EDTA
Intended Use:
Collection of whole blood for glucose preservation testing where inhibition of glycolysis is required prior to analysis.
Additive:
Sodium Fluoride (NaF) + EDTA , water fog.
Mechanism of Action:
EDTA chelates ionized calcium (Ca²⁺) → prevents coagulation (anticoagulant).
Sodium Fluoride (NaF) inhibits glycolysis (classically via enolase inhibition) → reduces cellular glucose consumption after collection.
Specimen Type:
Plasma (preferred for preserved glucose) / Whole blood (before centrifugation).
Applications:
Glucose (FPG, random glucose, OGTT samples)
Useful where sample transport delay may occur and glycolysis control is needed
Regulatory Status:
Manufactured under ISO 13485 QMS
EN ISO 6710 aligned for single-use venous blood specimen containers
IVDR (EU) 2017/746: typically Class A (general IVD accessory/collection device positioning)
Labeling per ISO 15223-1 (symbols) as applicable
